About This Program

Class Description
Welcome to our community-driven tennis program. The program is designed to introduce new players to the game and help them reach the level where they can compete as well as to foster the continued development of more experienced players. Depending on the size of the class, we will either group beginners and intermediates together, providing appropriate challenge for each level, or we will divide them between two coaches. Every class will have instruction, drilling, conditioning, and fun! We hope you come out and meet your neighbors, get a great workout, and fall in love with tennis!

What to Bring
Water, sun-protection, a tennis racket that is the correct size, and athletic shoes with non-marking tread

What skill division should I register for?

We use the United States Tennis Associations NTRP numerical rating system to help define our skill divisions. An NTRP Rating is a numerical indicator of tennis-playing ability, from 1.5 (beginner) through 7.0 (touring pro), which aligns with a set of general characteristics that break down the skills and abilities of each level, in 0.5 increments. To learn more about each rating and their skill characteristics, click on this link:

Adults:

Level 1 (Beginner) – never played – 2.0

Level 2 (Intermediate) – 2.5-3.0

Level 3 (Advanced) – 3.5+

Please note that the coach will evaluate the participants at the start of the season, will make any necessary grouping modifications, and may recommend that a participant move to a class that is more skill appropriate.
